Oakland City Council Meeting Discussing ShotSpotter Benefits and Funding

KNTV March 14, 2014 –Oakland Mayor Jean Quan voices her support for ShotSpotter gunshot detection system. During budget negotiations, leaders are looking for ways to sponsor the project for the coming year. Results have been good with the ShotSpotter system, measured in increasing gun arrests and providing additional data supporting followups to criminal investigations. According to Mayor Quan, crime in the City of Oakland has decreased, in fact the largest drop of large sized cities in nation.
