SPECIAL REPORT: Shot Spotter, Can It Work In The Miami Valley
November 06, 2015
DAYTON -- When someone shoots off a gun in the Miami Valley, it's up to people who heard the shots to call police and let them know where to look to track down the suspects. But in some parts of Ohio, there's new high tech equipment that does the job.
"Shot Spotter" is being used in cities like Youngstown and Canton. The high tech microphone is placed in what's considered to be "high crime" areas and then is activated when someone fires a gun.
Wednesday, November 11, on FOX 45 News at 10, Natasha Williams will have a special report about shot spotter. She'll show us how the technology works and if it can work here, and why it isn't being used yet in the Miami Valley.Fox 45 Now
