Savannah teenager injured in Monday night shooting

July 28, 2015

A ShotSpotter notification late Monday night led to a shooting investigation by Savannah-Chatham police.

About 10:50 p.m., metro patrol officers arrived at the 2100 block of Bolling Street after a Shot Spotter alert moments earlier, said Eunicia Baker, police spokeswoman. Officers recovered evidence of at least one gun being fired in the area.

By 10:53 p.m., metro units responded to Memorial University Medical Center, where a 17-year-old victim was receiving treatment for a non-life threatening bullet wound. Investigators traced the victim’s injury back to Bolling Street.

A silver, four-door sedan was seen in the area at the time of the shooting. The suspect is unknown.
