Police seek tips from public in Paterson shooting

PATERSON -- Police are asking for information from the public as they investigate a shooting Thursday on Holsman Street.

A city man showed up at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm around 6:15 p.m., according to Detective Lt. Patrick Murray, head of the Ceasefire Unit.

Police also received an alert from the city's ShotSpotter gunshot detection system that pointed them to the shooting scene near Jefferson Street, Murray said.

The man was in stable condition and not cooperating with investigators, the lieutenant said.
