Paterson resident shot by man on bicycle, police say

PATERSON — A man on a bicycle shot a city man in the leg Saturday night, police said.

The Paterson ShotSpotter gunshot detection system reported shots fired around 12th Avenue between Rosa Parks Boulevard and East 18th Street, Paterson Detective Lt. Patrick Murray said.

There, police found a 44-year-old with a gunshot wound to the lower leg, Murray said. A man dressed in black and riding a bicycle approached him with a handgun and fired.

The man fled east on 12th Avenue after the shooting, Murray said. The 44-year-old is in stable condition.
