August 03, 2016
PATERSON - Detectives are investigating a burst of gunfire that took place on 10th Avenue at about 8 p.m. Tuesday night, police said.
The city's ShotSpotter gunshot detection system indicated that as many as 15 shots were fired in the area of East 28th and and East 29th streets, police said. So far, police said, they have no indication that anyone was wounded, or that any homes or vehicles were hit.
Police said investigators found ballistic evidence of at least five bullets being fired. Authorities have not said how many guns or individuals they believe were involved.
The area where the shooting took place is notorious for street-level drug dealing, particularly sales to out-of-town buyers who turn onto 10th Avenue from Route 20.North Jersey News
