Killer on the loose after Bayview slaying

Police were searching Thursday for the killer of a 25-year-old man found gunned down on a street in San Francisco’s Bayview district Wednesday morning, officials said.

The man, who was not immediately identified, was found with gunshot wounds on the 300 block of Paul Avenue after the city’s gunfire-detection system, ShotSpotter, was activated around 9 a.m. Wednesday, police said. The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have yet to make an arrest, and the case is under investigation.

Later on Wednesday, two men were found with gunshot wounds on the 1000 block of Palou Avenue shortly after 11 p.m., police said. One of the victims, a 24-year-old man, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other victim was also taken to San Francisco General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two suspects fled the area in an unknown car, police said. There have been no arrests.
