City police investigate gunfire on W. 3rd St.

Wilmington police are investigating about a dozen rounds fired in the 600 block of West Third Street early Tuesday night.

Emergency dispatchers received numerous calls, as well as ShotSpotter technology notification, of 10 rounds fired in the 400 block of North Madison, according to police scanner reports. Initial reports indicate nearby vehicles were hit, but there are no reported victims.

Police later located the scene in the 600 block of West Third Street, where police set up markers and investigated the shooting.
