David P. Rodgers

Vice President, Operational Engineering

A seasoned executive with a track record of successfully bringing to market large scale, high availability systems, David P. Rodgers brings 38 years of experience to ShotSpotter. Prior to joining ShotSpotter, Rodgers served as vice president of engineering and operations for Schooner Information Technology Inc where he led platform development and information technology for Web 2.0 appliances for real-time data intensive applications.

Rodgers also served as the vice president of engineering at Agami System, overseeing development and customer support of a family of high-availability network attached storage appliances. At IP Unity, now Movius Corporation, Rodgers was responsible for the development of scalable, highly-available enhanced services applications and platforms for telephony service providers. As vice president of engineering at Compaq Computer Corporation, he managed strategic relationships with Microsoft, Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP and Siebel Systems.

Earlier in his career, Rodgers held numerous executive level positions and played a strategic role in the development of multi-microprocessor computer systems and the CC-NUMA operating system at Sequent, a provider of large-scale Unix systems that is now part of IBM. He also founded and ran Sequent’s International Development Centers in Nice, France and Tokyo, Japan. At Digital Equipment Corporation, he was one of five VAX architects and a leader in the standardization of Ethernet.

At ShotSpotter, Rodgers is responsible for the development, strategy and execution of the company’s PaaS and cloud computing product portfolio. He holds a BSEE in computer science from Carnegie-Mellon University.
