Apply cutting edge machine learning, artificial intelligence, and modeling techniques to the ShotSpotter portfolio of applications and services that are focused on crime forecasting, mission planning and gunshot detection.
As a part of the data science team you will collaborate on improvements to existing models and work on implementation of proposed enhancements as well as new functionality. Your specific focus will be data modeling techniques related to crime forecasting, mission planning software & ShotSpotter Missions. As part of your role you will collaborate with cross-functional teams on requirements for Missions.
Conduct in-depth analysis of current Missions model and calculation of Missions and propose optimizations of that model.
Integrate additional data sources into Missions model with specific focus on ShotSpotter gunshot data.
Develop and socialize best practices around metric development, A/B testing and experimentation, usage tracking and instrumentation.
Present insights and summarize complex data to diverse audiences through visualizations and other means.
Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar computational discipline, e.g. physics, mathematics, or statistics or 3+ years experience working with statistical data analysis.
Experience with applying machine learning and/or statistical modeling to real world problems.
Programming experience with Python and R.
Ability to understand, tackle, and communicate problems from both technical and business perspectives.
SQL and noSQL database experience
Source control experience, preferably GIT
