World Leader in Gunshot Detection
Managed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Supporting Anti-terrorism by fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002 (SAFETY Act) was created to provide critical incentives and liability protections for the development and deployment of anti-terrorism technologies.
To achieve SAFETY Act certification, ShotSpotter demonstrated that its technology and services can be used to deter, defend against, respond to, or mitigate a terrorist act. After rigorous review by the Office of the Undersecretary for Science and Technology, the ShotSpotter Gunshot Location System® (GLS) was issued certification by the Department of Homeland Security and placed on their Approved Products List for Homeland Security. Warranty and maintenance services, training, extended maintenance services, and installation and calibration are included as part of the certification
Certification is the highest level of liability protection available under the SAFETY Act. It provides significant liability protections and effectively shields ShotSpotter, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers from liability for legal claims resulting from acts of terrorism.
