Paul Ames Joins as Sr. VP of Product Engineering, Theresa Marcroft as Sr. VP of Marketing, and Damaune Journey as VP of Security Solutions
NEWARK, Calif., Feb. 4, 2015— SST, the maker of ShotSpotter Flex™ and the global leader in gunfire detection and analysis, today announced that three new security and technology industry veterans have joined its executive staff, including Paul Ames as Senior Vice President of Product Engineering, Theresa Marcroft as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Damaune Journey as Vice President of Security Solutions.

Paul Ames, a 25-year technology veteran, joins SST as Senior Vice President, Products and Technology, to lead the product development, software, hardware and operational engineering teams. Before SST, he founded Deckchair Software LLC, to conceive, develop and market consumer facing mobile apps. At Premier Retail Networks (PRN), a division of Technicolor, Ames served as Vice President of Product Development, responsible for driving development of a $100MM yearly revenue video advertising platform. Paul started his career in the UK and has held technology leadership roles across a broad range of industries including communications, financial, professional information and media.
Theresa Marcroft is Senior Vice President of Marketing and leads the company’s marketing efforts. Marcroft managed her own consulting business for fourteen years serving high tech clients as their “interim VP marketing”, the most recent one being SST. Before starting her own firm, she was Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Cylink, a publicly-held network security company. There she developed their ‘securing e-business’ positioning which helped unite the firm and transform it from an engineering-led company into a market- driven one. During her years at Regis McKenna, she managed enterprise software accounts, launching products like AppleTalk and OmniPage. Before that, Marcroft led pan-European marketing for chip-maker AMI as an expatriate for four years in Austria. She started her career at Hewlett Packard.
In addition, SST named Damaune Journey to the position of Vice President, Security Solutions. In this position, Journey will lead SST’s security business, focusing on solutions for buildings, campuses, utilities and other critical infrastructure nationwide. Prior to joining SST, Journey was Director of Global Business Development for Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO), a leader in portable contraband detection equipment. At CSECO, he developed the firm’s global expansion strategy and international distribution network while partnering with various foreign governments and law enforcement agencies to address a range of security issues, resulting in transforming CSECO’s international business into a revenue growth engine and increasing CSECO’s global footprint. Journey also worked nearly ten years at Eli Lilly & Co., where he successfully led engineering, manufacturing and sales organizations.
