ShotSpotter Selected by AlwaysOn as a AO100 Private Company Award Winner

today announced that it has been chosen by AlwaysOn as one of the Top 100 Private Company award winners. ShotSpotter was handpicked by the AlwaysOn editorial panel based on a set of five criteria

ShotSpotter and the AO100 will be honored as part of the AO2006: Stanford Summit, July 25-27, at the Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center on the Stanford University campus in Palo Alto, California. It will bring together successful entrepreneurs, business and political thought leaders, and top venture capitalists to spot trends and spark new ideas and initiatives.
The AO100 was selected from over 1,000 companies, peer-nominated by leading venture capitalists, investment bankers and industry analysts. The AO100 consists of private companies at all stages of development, from early to late stage.
ShotSpotter’s flagship product, which detects gunfire across large urban areas using a small number of inexpensive and easy-to-deploy sensors, currently protects the residents of more than a dozen cities nationwide. With technology covered by granted and pending US patents, the company’s solutions have produced arrests and weapons confiscations nationwide and has helped reduce gunfire and crime rates in cities that deploy it.
