"ShotSpotter systems have successfully located gunfire in complex urban environments for the better part of a decade" said Dr. Robert L. Showen, President of ShotSpotter. "We want to offer the same level of protection we provide every day to hundreds of thousands of US citizens to our military, and Centurist Systems is the perfect partner for us in that endeavor."

"ShotSpotter's technology leads the industry in delivering accurate and timely data about gunfire to law enforcement," said Mr. Beldock, "This is a company poised to take major strides in both its technology and its business, and I'm excited to be on board."

"With Centurist System's extensive military and aerospace security background," said Scott Manderville, President and CEO of Centurist Systems, "we are in the position to provide a soldier-focused, rapidly deployable gunshot detection and location system with the best portability and accuracy on the market."

The joint venture's first two products are based on technology already being sold domestically. The first, a soldier-portable gunshot detection system, uses ShotSpotter's patented filtering techniques and Centurist's unique knowledge of wireless and other technologies to produce a best-of-breed live fire detection system. The second, a vehicle-mounted system designed specifically for convoy protection, augments the soldier system and provides further capabilities unique to mobile installations.
