OAKLAND, Calif.—Police have seized assault rifles and other weapons after a woman and a man were shot to death in Oakland.
Police say the shootings early Sunday took place within a few minutes and a few blocks of each other.
Oakland police responding to a "shot spotter" call found the woman shot to death a little before 3:00 a.m. Sunday.
Shot spotter is technology that records gunfire and automatically notifies police with the location when shots are fired.
While officers were at that scene another shot spotter call recorded another shooting a few blocks away.
Police say as part of their investigation they recovered several weapons ranging from handguns to assault rifles at two homes in the area where the man was killed.
