Plainfield man charged with attempted murder

The Union County Prosecutor's Office is attempting to identify the individual depicted in the video as a person of interest in connection with the Dec. 29 homicide of Shamar Coleman on the 1000 block of East Second Street in Plainfield.
A city man was arrested for his alleged role in a shooting near Leland and Columbia Avenues on Dec. 6 that injured another city resident.
Cory Logan, 25, was arrested on Dec. 26 by Plainfield Police Division Narcotics. He was in possession of a handgun at the time of his apprehension, according to a news release.
A pursuing investigation resulted in charges of first-degree attempted murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. He was taken to Union County Jail pending no bail.
The shooting injured a 23-year-old city man who was shot several times and taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment.
The incident was initially reported to police through the ShotSpotter alert system, informing authorities that gunshots had been fired in the area of Leland and Columbia avenues. In addition, Central communications received calls from several residents stating the same, according to the news release.
