New Year’s holiday marked by gunfire across SF

A number of gunfire incidents happened New Year’s Eve and the next morning, according to police, who noted that in at least three cases no one was injured and no victims were found.
The first reported shooting incident was on Saturday around 3:20 p.m. near the intersection of Pierce Street and Golden Gate Avenue in the Western Addition.
Police officers came to the area to look into a possible shooting, but could not find a victim; all they discovered were shell casings and a damaged parked vehicle.
The second incident, which occurred at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, was reported in the 200 block of Westpoint Road in the Bayview.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired but only discovered spent shell casings at the scene.
The next shooting incident happened at 12:50 a.m. Sunday near Garlington and Commer courts in Hunters Point. In this case officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and found spent casings at the scene.
